- Slovakia will be presented at EXPO 2017 in Kazakh Astana in two weeks -
29 May 2017
On Saturday, June 10, the Kazakh capital city Astana will officially open the international exhibition EXPO 2017. Over the next three months, there will be presented 115 countries around the world, including Slovakia, and more than 20 international organizations with green energy agenda. The main purpose of the event is to highlight the achievements in the field of green energy, which is a prerequisite for sustainable development, preservation of natural resources and maintaining the average quality of the environment.
The character of the Slovak exposition on the exhibition is represented by the phrase "Slovakia - a country of good ideas, great ideas for the energy of the future". This slogan expresses a lot of creativity and innovative ideas of the knowledge and human potential that the our country can offer to the world. During the whole exhibition, Slovakia will be accompanied by the national brand ENERGY & SLOVAKIA GOOD IDEA.
"We want to concentrate especially on energy cooperation, while Slovakia will be presented itself as an innovative and knowledgeable country," explains Patrícia Žáčiková, general commissioner of the exhibition of the Slovak Republic. The exhibition offers an opportunity for Slovak businessmen to establish valuable contacts and penetrate new interesting markets, especially in Asia. With support from the government, at least two large business missions are being prepared.
Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sergei Abdykarimov thanked the Slovak government for the exhibition. "For Kazakhstan, Slovakia's experience in areas such as energy efficiency, energy savings, the use of renewable energy sources and the development of energy technologies are important," he added. According to him, organizers expect 5 million visitors. In this regard, Kazakhstan has introduced visa-free entry for 30 calendar days for OECD citizens, including Slovakia, from 1 January 2017.
Our pavilion will present Slovakia as a country with developed industry, innovative potential and highly qualified work and scientific strength through five thematic areas. The entire exposure on an area of 360 square meters is conceived as one great artwork. The author of the proposal is the company Kvant from Bratislava in cooperation with the architect Jozef Danak of ART STUDIO JOKO in Trnava. "We have deliberately chose an unconventional approach to presenting the theme "Energy of the Future. "We intentionally wanted to get rid of the stereotype of similar events, and the proposal underlines the fundamental idea that all innovations and revolutionary ideas can only arise in the human brain," said architect Danak.
The Slovak Exposition presents our country in the field of innovation, science and research, culture, sport and tourism. The focus of attention will undoubtedly be ECOCAPSULE - an energetically self-sufficient intelligent microdom; presenting a sustainable intelligent household, powered solely by solar and wind energy. It is a product that can be used on a global scale. "At EXPO 2017, we decided to show how Ecocapsule could look in a state of the art. Therefore we have placed a selection of products of common use from the best Slovak designers and manufacturers inside of pavilion. Thereby we strive to make our country a place that can offer the world a lot of talent, creativity and innovative solutions for a better future, "said Tomas Zacek, director of Ecocapsule's design.
The most interesting exhibit is the innovative CHARGEBRELLA, a portable umbrella with a power supply for charging the electronics. The neighbors of the Slovak Pavilion will be the following countries: Romania, France, Austria, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
The total budget of the Slovak Republic at EXPO Astana is 2.66 million euros, including construction, technical and organizational costs. The top of the event will be the National Day of the Slovak Republic at EXPO 2017 on July 18 where will be world-famous Lúčnica with their dance performance. EXPO in Astana ends on September 10.
